Panel Card Data

There are 99 individual that comprise the unduplicated within brand/size number of cards in the 1962 Post cereal football card promotion. A card sample size of 32,352 is enough to draw some conclusions, one of which is that even at that sample size comparing counts from low demand cards with high demand cards is inequitable. Further, factor in that many low demand cards weren't counted because they were part of lots and one quickly understands that raw individual card sales numbers is an inadequate method on which to base exact scarcity conclusions.

A better approach might be to combine the individual cards from each panel into totals for the 99 panels. The following table shows counts for each panel sorted by count—shown on the left—and sorted alphabetically for reference at right. The nomenclature used to denote the individual cereal product panel is (left to right) the brand (i.e. GN for Grape Nuts) and size in ounces along with the number of the first card on the panel. The next page will present combined cereal product totals.
